Balmer
Lawrie (UAE) manufactures steel drums according
to international standards such as ISO 15750:2002,
BS 814-1:1987, BS 2003:1987, EN 209:2000, EN 210:1986,
ANSI MH2-1997 etc. and these drums carry the UN
Certification for packaging of dangerous goods.
The company’s drums conform
to the highest safety guidelines, and are certified
for sea and road transportation of hazardous chemicals.
The drums are of Tight Head and
Open Top designs. Balmer Lawrie has 14 different
drum types that have been approved with UN markings
and depending on the product to be filled, a suitable
drum could be chosen.
The thickness of steel in these
drums ranges from 0.70 mm to 1.20 mm. The drums
are with seven fold triple seam. They are also
with a “W” design rolling hoops (or
beads) which permits optimum stuffing of drums
in shipping containers.
Drums can be supplied either
with corrugations on the body which improve the
resistance to denting, or without corrugations.
In the Tight Head drums the tops
are with a special “Optimal Drainability”
design.
The drums are fitted with high
quality closures. Optionally for the Tight Head
drums tabseals (capseals), which are generally
lithographed to customer’s logo / design
can be supplied.
Externally the drums are painted
with high quality, specially formulated stoving
paint with a minimum 20 microns thickness.
Optionally the drums can be Screen
Printed on the body or on the top with company
logo and / or product details.
Internally the drums can be supplied
with either a primer paint coat, or a single or
double coat of a very high quality Epoxy Phenolic
Lacquer Lining.
